Taiko no Tatsujin: Wai Wai Happy! Rokudaime (Japanese: 太鼓の達人 わいわいハッピー! 六代目 Taiko no Tatsujin Wai Wai Happy! Rokudaime) is the sixth entry of Taiko no Tatsujin released for home consoles for the PlayStation 2.

Being released in December 8, 2005, it is the sixth entry to the Taiko no Tatsujin console releases for the PlayStation 2, and being the 10th Taiko no Tatsujin game for the PlayStation 2.

Gameplay[]

Taiko no Tatsujin: Wai Wai Happy! Rokudaime added a new entry into the Noisy Taiko Battle game, which was called the More Noisy Taiko Battle (Japanese: もっとわいわい太鼓合戦 Motto Wai Wai Taiko Gassen). The new entry added stuff like a Mi-mini game mode, which was shorter than an actual mini game, 3 mini games would be played and if the player wins one of the mini games, they get a point, if the player gets 2 points they win it. And a spin whell was added onto it when you play a song or mini game on the More Noisy Taiko Battle, if the spin whell lands at a x2 or x3, the player who wins the mini game or song gets x2 or x3 the points if you win it. If a player wins the More Noisy Taiko Battle, 2500 Don points will be added to their donder profile.

Taiko Mode[]

The game even added special features to the Taiko Mode, like making the notes invisible, make the notes faster, and a Sudden Death feature, which if you get a 不可 (Bad) while playing, the song will end and take you to the results screen.

New songs were also added for the sixth release + 4 unlockable songs, having a total of 48 songs.

Mini Games[]

There were 4 new mini games for the sixth release such as:

  • Feather Pounding Tournament - You have to pound a feather with a stick and if you miss it, your character that you are controlling is drawn on the face.
  • Makiwatte Goo! - You have to cut the wood depending how big the wood is at the right time.
  • Opening! Grilled Squid Stand - You have to grill squids in this mini game and if a squid is grilled too much, it will start floating and will not appear again. There is also a unlockable song in this mini game, if you get 21 points in it, you unlock a new song called "Atashi Ikasama Koi wa Ikasama", which is the main theme of the mini game.
  • Bakusou! Love Love Donko - You have to run away from the giant Donko and be careful to not get smashed by Donko or hitten by trash that is being thrown towards you.
